Time for the dentist?

Just curious, when should I start taking Lily Clare to the dentist?

HA! Can you tell that things are kinda slow around here? We have about five sets of these teeth and it's a fight to see who can find them and wear them. You can see who won this time!

Let's celebrate Sam!!!

On April 22,2002 we received a huge blessing! Samuel Mason Moore was brought into the world in Chattanooga, TN. Being our first born, we weren't quite sure what to expect when my first labor pains started and believe me it was a very bumpy 15 hour ride! He was born at 12:04 p.m. and whisked away to the NICU, (but only briefly) and then John brought him back for me to cuddle!

Sam's hair was as white as snow and he had a head full of it! To date, the blonde is still here and we're still curious as to where the white color came from. (No, not the milkman!) My boy is precious! He is so full of energy and has an imagination like no other! It's always been fun to watch him pretend to be a "Emeril", a fireman, a police officer, or even a garbage man!
He is a good big brother, but still has the urge to hog all of the attention and cuddles once in a while. Lily adores him and hops right in to play chase, police or cars!

As I look back over these past six years, I'm amazed at how much he has learned and how much love he has brought to the family! We are proud of him and enjoy him everyday! (Did I say every day?) Here are some of my favorite pics over the years! Enjoy...

We love you, Sam!

Spring Break Adventures

We started our fun-filled week with a trip to the beautiful North Georgia Mountains. We were even so lucky to have Nana join us. (Nana is my mom!) We went to the Ocoee Whitewater Center - where they held the Olympic Whitewater Rafting.

We stayed at our little cabin in the woods!

We also did simple, little fun things like going to the park and a picnic in the woods! We all had a great time! (There's a touching story about a man we met named "Kilroy". I'll share this with you in the future!)

Later in the week, John, myself and the kids went to Chattanooga, TN. We lived in Chattanooga for about five years and Sam was born there! John's parents and sister live there too, so we were able to have fun doing excursions and seeing family! We met John's parents (Grandma and Grandpa) at the zoo and started our day with a picnic.

I just love this zoo! It is small, but has a great variety of animals and rarely a crowd! When Sam was a baby, I would take him there and I'd give him his bottle in the enclosed chimpanzee exhibit! (Weird? yes. Fun? yes, yes!) Maybe this chimp recognized him! He was drawn to Sam and walked right over and stared at him for a good 10 minutes! Chimps are really amazing!

Then we went to the Chattanooga Choo-Choo, to the local park, out to eat at "our" old pizza place and then on to the Chattanooga Lookouts Minor League Baseball game! Whew!

What happens after this much fun? Taa-daa....

The week was fun and tiring! But what a great way to spend some quality family time! 'Til next time....

Just a random thought.....

Have you seen this infomercial?

I couldn't find a link to let you see, but believe me, you really don't want to!!!! It needs a disclaimer at the beginning stating that "If you are eating, please change the channel!" This "amazing" product is used to give yourself a salon-perfect pedicure! That's great, enough said! But, no, they have to take it a few steps too far and show you the "before" feet, how it works and the amount of skin that is removed! GROSS! Seriously, the woman using this product must have gone down about 2 shoe sizes! Sorry to bring this up, but I just had to make sure I wasn't the only one that is disturbed by this.

Actually, now that I think about it, sandal season is around the corner. I might just need to turn on my cable t.v. and order one! HA!

I promise Spring Break pictures are coming up!

Just being silly!~

What a difference a day makes!

Did you know that this is the 5th house that we've lived in since we've been married?!?!? (And that doesn't include our newlywed apartment and the house we lived in temporarily with John's fraternity brother - now that's a whole 'nother blog!!) Needless to say, we are ready to settle in for the long haul! We love our house, our neighbors, the schools and our location...so, we've decided to make this house what we want it to be!

Last year was the "year of the bathrooms"! We added two baths to the house and updated our master bath. This year our major renovation is...drum roll, please.... A POOL!!!! Yep, we've thought about this for over a year and we've done a lot of research. We decided to bite the bullet and the process began today....

Yesterday, the backyard looked like this....

And today, by 3:30, it looked like this....

It was unbelievable! We just keep going outside to stare! And can you guess who is the most excited?!?!? Sam and Lily! They are ready to dive in!

So, we'll keep you updated on the progress and we'll let you know when the first pool party will be!

Testing the water....

Well, I've "cyber-stalked" enough and feel that it is time to test my own skills at blogging. I totally have no idea how to do this and I'm amazed that I've made it this far!

I'm a mother to two beautiful children. They really are what my life revolves around. (Am I really that boring?) Well, those two crazy ones and my wonderful, fun-loving husband! We've been married for almost 16 years and we have an incredible relationship - if I do say so myself!

I was raised in a very caring, supportive family and talk to my mom everyday (and then some)! My parents just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and I'm so proud of this fact! I have a protective big bro' who lives in Tennessee and an incredible big sis' who lives in AL -- both of them are too far away!

Believe it or not, I have the best relationship with my in-laws that has ever existed! It's kinda strange how well we all get along, but I love it and I am truly thankful for it!

I have the best friends that a person could ask for. Friends are very important in my life and if I can't be my crazy/silly/serious self around a person, then I just have to move along. I try to let all of my friends know how special they are and how much I appreciate them! I hope they know it!

I want this blog to keep all of my family and friends - near and far - up to date on our comings and goings. I may ramble at times, but oh well, that's me!

Check back in...I hope we prove to be interesting and entertaining!

Blessings~
