Proms and birthdays and anniversaries, oh my!!

One of the many events that has been canceled because of this crazy virus is the high school prom and many people have gotten really creative in finding ways to make up for the loss.  Sam and his friend, Britt, found a fun replacement... John Krasinski's "Some Good News" virtual prom!

Sam put on his tuxedo and headed over to Britt's house for pictures (6 feet apart, of course) and then went back to their homes and watched the show together through FaceTime.

They looked cute as can be and the evening helped brighten a dull spot in this crazy Senior year they are having.  And in case you are in the mood for "some good news", check out John Krasinski's weekly show where he highlights heart warming stories that are coming out of this quarantine that the world is in... SomeGoodNews!

April 22nd was a busy day in the Moore household -- we celebrated Sam's 18th birthday!! The morning started with the school principal stopping by for his popular "birthday, selfie".

Then Sam received a surprise delivery of Chick-fil-a chicken mini's.

His birthday dinner request was a low country boil and tiramisu. Yum! We were all on board for that!

I couldn't let the day go by without a little virus fun, so even though he did get his requested tiramisu, he also got a coronavirus cake!

After dinner, he had a glow in the dark scavenger hunt around our property for him to find his birthday money.

Even though a little different, it was a great day celebrating our firstborn becoming an official adult!

May 2nd, John and I celebrated out 28th wedding anniversary! It was a beautiful weekend, so we took a trip to the lake and had a little fun in the sun!  We took the boat out for a sunset pizza dinner and out friends surprised us with a cake!

We all couldn't help but laugh at the penmanship of the well wishes on the cake!

Getting away for the weekend was something I think we all needed.  Just to have a change of scenery helped us reset our minds with this new norm.

This week a lot of restaurants and businesses reopened in Georgia.  With that came a lot of new stipulations, ie: number of people allowed in buildings, wearing masks, not accepting cash....but I think people are ready to get back out and are willing to follow the rules.

Sam finished his school work last week (woot woot!) and Lily will finish her final school assignments today, closing out her last year of middle school.  We have lots of fun activities coming up over the next couple weeks, the busyness is keeping us sane!

Busy is good~
